Amani Family Services celebrates World Refugee Day | 963XKE | Classic Fort Wayne Rock

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Amani Family Services will hold its annual World Refugee Day celebration at 5:30 p.m. on Monday June 20 at the small lodge in Foster Park.

World Refugee Day is an international day to honor refugees for their courage and resilience as they enter new communities. Since 2018, Amani Family Services has hosted a potluck celebration at Foster Park to recognize Fort Wayne’s unique multicultural community.

This year’s event will include a planting activity led by the Little River Wetlands Project, goodie bags provided by Kroger, a Zumba performance, a child-friendly art project, and stories from local refugees and immigrants. Supporters can participate in our celebration by bringing a potluck to the event.

Amani Family Services will also mark its 16th anniversary. Founded in 2006, Amani Family Services continues to evolve to meet the needs of immigrants and refugees who now live in Fort Wayne.
