Alternative rock bands Mayonnaise and 647 gave fans their own take on Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” amid the release of the pop star’s re-recorded “Fearless” album.
The two groups collaborated during Mayonnaise’s weekly “TBT” (Throwback Thursday) sessions where, as the title suggests, they cover or perform old songs for fans.
Amid the pandemic-induced lockdown, Mayonnaise and 647 brought live concert sensations to fans as they performed the song live at the Yellow Room Recording Studio in Alabang. It was uploaded to YouTube yesterday, April 8.
In addition to re-recording his old songs, Swift’s new album “Fearless”, officially titled “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)”, is accompanied by bonus tracks “From the Vault”. It was released just earlier today, April 9.
“Love Story” is one of Swift’s greatest hits, not only among songs on the 2008 “Fearless” album. This album won Swift several Grammys at the time, including the album from the year in 2010.
Besides Swift’s new project, the collaboration of the two Pinoy groups also comes in the middle of the release of 647’s new song titled “Di Mo Na Ko Maloloko”.
Mayonnaise has covered several songs by different artists, local and foreign, via their YouTube channel. Frontman Monty Macalino, for his part, already covered K-pop group Blackpink’s “Really” last year. /ra
